Saying goodbye to Poppy

August

April (Poppy did have more than one shirt :)

For those of you who haven't heard, my grandfather, Cecil Prentice, passed away a couple of weeks ago. I remember composing the post after Maxine, my Nan, passed away last April. I was especially saddened by the fact that she would never get to meet her namesake. Zak and I are so grateful that Poppy had the chance to meet Max! Max was always captivated by Poppy and would proudly wave and smile when he got to see him. Max and Poppy have some pretty special memories. They loved to wave at each other and they always made each other smile. We are all going to miss Poppy very much, but we're grateful for the time we had together!

We've been on vacation and will share more pictures soon!

First Summer Swim Trip

Ready for our first outdoor swim trip!

Hey Max, mom and dad LOVE swimming, so enjoy it, because you'll be doing a lot of it!

Party at the Bolicks!

Max REALLY enjoyed his first trip to the pool! We got pool passes and will be going back as much as possible! It was so much fun. Later on, Max had a few friends over to hang out and play games. They were a pretty rowdy bunch! In other news, I will be taking my Master's exam from June 1 to June 8. Wish me luck! After that's over, Max, Zak, and I will be enjoying our summer at the pool, Wrightsville Beach, NC, and the Bolick's lake!

Max's New Car!

Well, although Max is years from getting his learner's permit and driver's license, he has his first car. And boy is it a hit with the little guy!

Like father, like son...

He is so fun to watch when he is riding, or should I say, driving his new car. He even hangs onto the steering wheel, most of the time and is engaged in driving.

Make sure to stay tuned for a video of Max cruising the streets, once the weather clears up enough for us to take him on a good, long spin around the block!

Newly Painted Home & Mother's Day

Boy, has it been busy around our household! But, fear not, we are back!
As you can tell, and probably already knew, we have been very busy painting the house. We finally got away from the ol' yellow, and painted it a fresh, new, natural color called Squirrel. What do you think?
Aside from that, we were lucky enough to have Grandma Bolick come into town for a few days to visit with Max and to allow Joie and I to get a few things. She was in town for several days, and it was nice for Max to be able to spend some time with her. I am not sure who enjoyed their time spent together more, Max or Grandma B!

After we got Grandma Bolick on the plane headed back to NC, we went to visit Joie's grandfather for a little while, and then Aunt Wilda before going to lunch at Carmen's, our favorite Italian restaurant. Here is a fun shot of Max playing with Aunt Wilda's cane and Grandma! He is such a showoff!

Finally, here is a shot of the guys at Carmen's.
Hopefully now that the house is (nearly) done, and that the weather is warming up, we'll be outside more snapping videos and pictures of little Max more and more. We find that he is changing day after day. We'll be sure to post some pictures and maybe a video of Max in his new car, but I don't want to give too much away quite yet! Take care, and thanks for checking us out.

We'll be back!

We're painting the house. Crazy times! It's especially funny that we have a picture of Max and I painting. We have painted about 1% of the house and Zak and our AMAZING friends have done the other 99%. Hopefully this project will be done soon! And thanks to all of you who have helped out. Man, we didn't know what we were getting into :)

Happy Easter!

Max loves his great-grandpa!

Aunt Wilda too!

And, look what the Easter Bunny brought!

Green beans are Max's favorite. Poppy was kind enough to share a few extra!

Randi ordering the Most delicious pizza I've ever eaten!

Max and I rode in the back of our new car - We loved it!

This is Max 'hanging out' out in my new favorite carrier (it's called an ERGO carrier, and man do I fit in in Lawrence when I wear it ;)

All the boys swimming in Dallas

IKEA

We had the privledge of going to Dallas with Randi, Rick, and Charlie Stones. 4 adults and 2 infants in the car and we still managed to have a great time. It was nice sitting by the pool and visiting IKEA. On our way home, we were able to stop in Oklahoma City long enough to visit the OKC memorial. What a great tribute to those who perished. Zak and I are glad we took to time to visit. Overall, it was a trip for the memory books!
